History

Our History intent is to create a meaningful curriculum for all, built within a chronological framework that allows connections to be made, delivered through high quality lessons.

This will enable every child to know how history is constructed and contested, question the process of change and understand how we arrived “here”.

As a result of this pupils will:

• Increase and develop their historical skills, concepts, knowledge and attitudes
• Increase their understanding of the present in the context of the past
• Develop and use their skills in enquiry, analysis, evaluation and argument
• Develop their interest in the past, arousing their curiosity and motivation to learn
• Develop a sense of identity through learning about the past
